What This Generator Creates
Upload a single image and get a complete favicon package ready to deploy. Our generator creates every file modern browsers and devices expect, from the classic favicon.ico to PWA-ready Android icons.
favicon.ico (Multi-Size)
A single ICO file containing 16×16, 32×32, and 48×48 pixel versions. Browsers automatically pick the right size. This is the file browsers look for at your domain root by default.
PNG Icons (All Sizes)
Individual PNG files at 16×16, 32×32, 96×96, 180×180 (Apple Touch Icon), 192×192, and 512×512 pixels. Covers retina displays, mobile devices, and PWA splash screens.
HTML Code Snippet
Ready-to-paste HTML link tags for your <head> section. Includes rel="icon", rel="apple-touch-icon", and manifest reference — all properly formatted.
Web App Manifest
A site.webmanifest file with your app name and icon references. Required for "Add to Home Screen" on Android and Progressive Web App installations.
Why Every Website Needs Proper Favicons
Favicons appear in browser tabs, bookmarks, Google search results, mobile home screens, and password managers. A missing favicon means a generic globe icon next to your site everywhere it appears — making your brand look unfinished.
Google started showing favicons in search results in 2019. Sites with recognizable favicons get higher click-through rates because the icon builds instant brand recognition. Without one, browsers also generate 404 errors by requesting /favicon.ico on every page load — wasting server resources and cluttering your logs.
Favicon Best Practices
- Start with a square image — Use a 512×512 PNG or SVG. The generator handles all the resizing.
- Keep it simple — At 16×16 pixels, only bold shapes and 1-2 colors are visible. Use your logo icon mark, not the full logo with text.
- Use a solid background for Apple Touch Icon — iOS doesn't handle transparent favicons well. Use your brand color as the background.
- Test on dark and light backgrounds — Your icon should be visible in both light mode and dark mode browser tabs.
