Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using WebScore (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

WebScore is a comprehensive website analysis platform with 7 analysis modules:

  • Performance: Core Web Vitals analysis, Lighthouse integration, load time metrics
  • SEO: Meta tags, structured data, schema validation, sitemap and robots.txt checks
  • Accessibility: WCAG 2.1 compliance checking, color contrast analysis, keyboard navigation, ARIA labels
  • Security: SSL certificate validation, security headers, DNS records, email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
  • Best Practices: Code quality analysis, performance optimizations, outdated library detection
  • Domain Metrics: Domain Authority, Page Authority, spam scores, Trust/Citation Flow, backlinks, and referral data from major SEO tools (Moz, Majestic, Ahrefs)
  • UI/UX Audit: AI-powered visual analysis including visual hierarchy, button sizes, spacing, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility compliance

Additional features include automated monitoring (weekly or daily scans), Google Search Console integration, task management, and report generation and sharing.

3. Account Registration

An account is required to run website scans, including free scans. Creating an account is free and does not require a credit card. When you start a scan as a visitor, you will be asked to sign in (or create an account) first; the scan begins automatically after authentication. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

You may register using email/password or through OAuth providers (Google, GitHub). By using OAuth, you authorize us to access basic profile information from these providers.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Scan websites you do not own or have permission to analyze
  • Conduct security testing or penetration testing beyond our provided scans
  • Overwhelm or abuse target websites with excessive requests
  • Attempt to access, probe, or test the vulnerability of our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Violate any laws or regulations applicable to your use
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Scrape or collect data from the Service in an automated manner
  • Circumvent usage limits or restrictions of your plan

5. Website Scanning Permissions

By submitting a URL for scanning, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the website or have explicit authorization to scan it
  • The scan does not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights
  • You understand that scans involve automated access to the target website
  • You accept responsibility for any consequences of scanning unauthorized sites

We reserve the right to refuse scanning any website at our discretion.

6. Subscription Plans and Payments

6.1 Plan Tiers

We offer the following purchase options with module access:

  • Free: Unlimited websites and scans with score previews. Includes: Performance, SEO, Accessibility, Security, Best Practices, Domain Metrics. Full reports can be unlocked individually for a one-time fee. No automated monitoring.
  • Single Report ($3 one-time): Unlocks the full detailed report, findings, and step-by-step fixes for one specific scan.
  • Lifetime ($29.99 one-time): Unlimited websites and scans, every report unlocked, task management, analytics with full history, automated daily or weekly monitoring for up to 10 websites, 10 AI UI/UX audits per month, Google Search Console integration, domain metrics tracking from Moz, Majestic, Ahrefs, and unlimited PDF exports.

6.2 Billing

All purchases are one-time payments — there are no recurring charges or subscriptions. Payment is processed through our third-party payment processor (Creem.io). You agree to provide accurate billing information.

6.3 Refunds

All purchases come with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If a Lifetime purchase is refunded, Lifetime access is revoked and your account reverts to the Free plan.

Additional refunds may be issued at our discretion for technical issues or service failures.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by WebScore and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of any data you submit to the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your data solely to provide the Service.

Reports and analysis results generated by the Service may be used by you for any lawful purpose, including sharing with clients.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your scan data and reports. Public sharing links you create are your responsibility to manage.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance (we will provide advance notice when possible)
  • Technical issues or system failures
  • Factors beyond our reasonable control

We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service interruptions.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF ANALYSIS RESULTS
  • THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED
  • THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED

Analysis results are provided for informational purposes. We do not guarantee that following our recommendations will improve your search rankings or website performance.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WEBSCORE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or data
  • Business interruption
  • Damages resulting from reliance on analysis results
  • Costs of substitute services

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WebScore and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Websites you submit for scanning without authorization

13. Domain Metrics and Third-Party Data

Domain metrics data is sourced from third-party SEO tools (Moz, Majestic, Ahrefs) through their APIs. You acknowledge that:

  • Domain metrics data may experience delays due to third-party update cycles
  • Data availability may depend on third-party service availability
  • We are not responsible for accuracy or completeness of third-party data
  • Changes to third-party APIs may affect metric availability
  • Domain metrics are provided for informational purposes only

Google Search Console integration requires OAuth authorization. Your GSC data is cached locally and is subject to our privacy policy and data retention schedule.

14. Automated Monitoring and Scanning

Automated monitoring features allow periodic website scans:

  • Lifetime plan: Daily or weekly scans (9:00 AM EET) for up to 10 websites. Includes all modules without UI/UX audit for performance reasons.
  • Automated scans may fail for technical reasons (website downtime, network issues, temporary unavailability of third-party services)
  • We retain scan results according to your plan's history retention period
  • Automated scans do not include manual user interactions or user-agent changes

15. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for:

  • Breach of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or abusive behavior
  • Payment disputes or chargebacks
  • Any conduct we deem harmful to other users or the Service

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your data after a reasonable retention period.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
